If you are interested in the history of Kampala and Uganda this is the tour for you. Your driver-guide will pick you up at a pre-arranged time and set off to explore Kampala. During your tour you will visit Kasubi Tombs, a burial site for Buganda kingdom kings. This landmark has long been held in very high reverence by the Buganda people and listed among UNESCO’s important cultural sites. Visit the beautiful Hindu Temple right off Clock Tower round about. Right up the hill from the Hindu Temple is the magnificent Gaddafi Mosque. This mosque took years to build and is now a center for Islamic faith in Uganda. Some other places you will visit are Namugongo Martyr’s Shrine where the first Christian converts were executed. Along with these sites you will visit the Uganda Museum where most of the country’s history is kept, the Lubiri Palace for the Buganda kingdom, Namirembe Rubaga Cathedral established by the first Christian missionaries more than 100years ago. Later in the day visit Nakasero and Owino Markets where all sorts of goods are sold and bartering is welcome. If you are interested in buying souvenirs, your driver-guide will take you to African craft markets at the National Theater and along Buganda Road. Mid-day you will make a stop at Makerere University for lunch at the University’s guest house. After learning everything you can and see all the sights, your driver-guide will return you safely to your lodging.
