Ngamba is a 100 acre forested island located 23km off the shore of Entebbe in Lake Victoria. This island provides a safe haven for orphaned chimpanzees allowing them to roam free in the forest. Ngamba offers a unique opportunity for close viewing of chimpanzee in their natural environment. Arrange your trip so you can witness the supplementary feeding scheduled daily at 11:00 AM or 3:00 PM.
You will have an early morning departure as your driver-guide arrives to begin this amazing day at Ngamba. Upon arrival at Entebbe Water Front Club you will board a speed boat or traditional boat and depart for Ngamba Island Sanctuary. Once on the island, you will view the chimpanzees from a raised platform allowing a spectacular view of the chimps and forest. The Ngamba Island guides are very informative knowing the individual profiles for each chimp, details about their personalities, and facts of their rescue.
On your way back to Kampala you will stop at the Uganda Wildlife Education Center or Entebbe Zoo. With admission you can view wildlife like lions, rhinoceros, zebra, giraffe, and wart-hogs, among others. At the close of the day your driver-guide will return you to your accommodation for a peaceful evening.
